Class of 2025

I have worked at Rockefeller’s since the summer I graduated highschool. I graduated in June of 1998 and started my first day at Rockefeller’s on August 24th, 1998, the day we opened. I started as a takeout girl, moved to host, eventually trained to serve (while Sherry tortured me for my clumsiness and made me carry a tray all of the time). Eventually, I started filling in as a manager. A few years later I took over as the banquet coordinator. Now I do a little bit of everything, you can still catch me answering the phones during Lent as a fill in host.

While organizing for my youngest daughter’s graduation party I came across this:

The blurry scrapbook letter says: Hi girls! I just wanted to send you a quick note. It is graduation season at Rockefeller’s. All the women planning their parties always tell me, “you will be here before you know it.” Getting ready for you girls to graduate, I can hardly imagine it. I have learned when talking with these moms, not to gaze into their eyes or we will cry. I know they are right though, look at how far we have come already! I can remember finding out about Pam and laying in bed daydreaming what ifs for your whole life. I can remember Daddy and I debating names for Danielle endlessly until finding the perfect fit. The first few months after you were born are a blur. You went from tiny babies to amazing little girls. One day you will be amazing young women graduating high school! When you look through your books know they were made with love, more love than you can imagine. Daddy and I want you to celebrate each moment of your journeys. We are so proud of you. Love you always, mom.

This next part is a thank you and a love letter to the myraid of parents and caregivers that have had their graduation parties with Rockefeller’s for all of these years. I wrote that letter to my girls 12 years ago! Thanks for giving me ideas and helping me prepare for the stress that comes with everything senior year and graduation. You were right. Even though I was overwhelmed and felt like I lived in my car riding the girls from thing to thing, it also somehow managed to feel like it went by in a blink. We did it. I survived both girls graduating and am preparing to begin the process of becoming “empty nesters” in the fall. Thank you for letting me be a tiny spec in your journey and for influencing my journey with your words of wisdom, kindness, and great party ideas.

Thank you to all of you that again and again to choose Rockefeller’s for your celebrations. I’ve been part of the Rockefeller’s family since day one and it really truly is a pleasure helping you with your events. Thanks for returning the favor and helping with mine! If you need help with anything, you know where to find me.
